Too Excited to Wait for Baby Announcement

131027 Paintball 1 131027 Paintball 2

This was the group that played paintball yesterday which helped raise money for a friend going on a missions trip to Haiti. Well, today we got a text from the leader of the group and he didn't mention this to Ty but there were 4 unbelievers who came to play yesterday and 1 of them asked if he could go to church today and asked how he could get involved in a growth group. So, there was a two-fold purpose to this game yesterday, to raise money for sharing the gospel outside of our community AND to help open the doors to share the gospel within a local community.

So, why did I start out with "Too Excited to Wait for Baby Announcement?" Well, I was trying to hold off this testimony to include it in the baby announcement, but the news is just too exciting not to share. At the end of the day, the Lord gave me a glimpse of His sovereign plan. He gave me a glimpse of how He uses His people to accomplish His work and it could be as little as allowing my husband the time to go out and minister, or as little as going over to help someone clean their house, or as little as providing a meal to someone...I was so frazzled about the mess in my home because Ty had not been around to help me, yet the Lord said, "Trust me, Gen. Do not worry." Little did I know that God already provided the help for me to get the house clean...And it's not just that He provided help for the house cleaning, but every single person who has provided help in every single way, has shown God's faithfulness and love. It was just yesterday's help really gave me a glimpse of how God is in control of everything. And that help which God provided allowed Ty's time to be free to host this paintball game. Now, at least one unsaved person has heard the gospel today by going to church and in a few weeks, some more people will be touched by God's love through this missions trip to Haiti. How awesome is that!!! So, as a side note, don't underestimate the value of the work you are doing when you are serving God. You don't know what that note of encouragement could spark or how that meal you provided has freed up someone's time to minister or how your prayers have strengthened someone's spirit!

Anyway, this relates to our baby announcement because Ty and I have had conflict over what to name this child. After yesterday's glimpse of God's sovereign plan, I sat down and I said to Ty, "Her name is going to be..." and Ty said, "Ok." I won't reveal the name, but it encompasses both commandments, to love God and to love others. All of these people who came together love God and therefore have in turn loved others through their actions. It really completes the gospel message...That when we are saved by grace, we become Christians, and we are commissioned to spread the gospel and evangelize, and as people hear God's Word and receive Jesus as their Savior, they have hope of an eternity with God, yet while we are still here, we ought to glorify God and enjoy Him, and we do that by loving Him and in turn love others...Which all goes back to sharing the Word of God's grace..."Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound. That saved a wretch like me. I once was lost, but now am found. Was blind, but now I see..."
