Hope for Parents: Our Heavenly Father

Sometimes I get trapped by my past and am paralyzed by the way my parents raised me...My parents raised me with a lot of truth but not with a lot of grace...And often I fall back into their patterns because that's what was exemplified for me...Yet, I am learning that there is HOPE for parents who did not grow up with parents that didn't particularly exemplify godliness...As Christians, we are adopted into the family of God...God is now our Father and He is the epitome of grace and truth!!!...I don't need to keep falling back to my parents' patterns because I have a new pattern to follow if I keep my eyes on my heavenly Father and His display of truth and grace towards His children...And the two fold benefit of this is that as we display God's pattern of truth and grace towards our children they are experiencing God's truth and grace through us and can pass that on to their children too...
