Went to my 6th week follow up. The doctor who did my c-section explained a little more of what happened. Apparently when she went in to cut me she expected to see all these distinct layers like fat, muscle, and uterus. However she did not see that. Instead, she saw one big mess. As she went in to cut what she thought was my muscle, she actually cut my uterus. That's how indistinct everything was. She explained that because of how everything is just stuck together it would be really difficult to go back in for a 4th c-section. Therefore, she advised us not to have more children.
We discussed exercise and she had no problems with me returning to a normal exercise routine just as long as I felt ok with the exercise. That encouraged hubby because that means nothing too damaging occurred during the c-section.
We then discussed all the different forms of birth control. Most were hormonal but the last 2 permanent fixes were a vasectomy for hubby or a new procedure called Esure where titanium plugs are inserted in the tubes and scar tissue around the plugs is what actually seals the tubes. Esure takes 3-6 months to completely plug tubes and it is checked with an MRI and dye. We told her we are interested in both the vasectomy and Esure. She gave us a number for a urologist.
Need to figure something out soon.
