This Made Me Shake My Head

Up until now, I have had great confidence in the medical staff at the hospital where I'm delivering Baby #5. Then, this conversation happened yesterday:

Nurse 1: Are you allergic to anything?

Me: No. Nurse 1: Hmmmm, it says here you're allergic to pork and nuts.

Me: (with a questioning look on my face) Really? I don't think I've ever said that I'm allergic to pork and nuts????

Nurse 1: (went to get Nurse 2) Tell me if I have the right person on the screen?

Nurse 2: (checking the computer screen) (Reads my name aloud)...Birthdate, 8-5-75. (turning to me) When is your birthday?

Me: August 5, 1975.

Nurse 2: (to Nurse 1) You've got the right person.
(to me) Does pork or nuts give you a headache?

Me: No.

Nurse 2: The notes on the computer say that pork and nuts give you a headache.

Me: (thinking hard about what I could have told a previous nurse and then a light bulb moment occurred) You know, how long ago were those notes made? Because, I was in here a few weeks ago and when they were checking me in I mentioned that the PROCARDIA was giving me a head ache. Maybe the nurse misunderstood what I said?

Nurse 1 and Nurse 2: (both looking back on the computer screen then back at me) Ohhhhhhhhhh....

The nurses and I all looked at each other, all of us shaking our heads...

Well, I did have high blood pressure when I went to my doctor's office yesterday, 142/90. So, I was sent to the hospital where they prepped me for a c-section just in case I tested positive for preelampsia. They then hooked me up to all the monitors and took 5 different blood pressure measurements and did all the preeclamspia tests. My blood pressures were all within normal range and the preeclampsia tests all came out negative. I was relieved. I was told to go home and keep my regular prenatal and non stress test appointments. There didn't seem to be any concern about a high blood pressure issue and I do not have to worry about weekly monitoring. I am so thankful for that.
