No Baby Yet

I am not in the hospital nor have I had the baby yet. My midwife warned me that the contractions would be more intense when I got off the Procardia and they were and are. However, I made it through the night and I think I'll make it through the day. Last night the contractions were coming strong, but not regularly. I had a good mix of Braxton Hicks and labor contractions. The Braxton Hicks just tightened up my uterus while the ones I'm calling labor contractions really took my breath and energy away. The ones I'm calling labor contractions were not coming regularly. I had really strong contractions this morning, but they did not start coming regularly and have somewhat calmed down. So, I think I'll make it through today. All that to say that I don't think there will be a baby this weekend. I am still 36 weeks and I want to hold off until my parents get here next Saturday. With that in mind, I am not doing anything to bring on labor. I'm also hoping to "buy" time to give baby the opportunity to get her head down. I've been doing what I can here at home to get baby to turn. It has been a bit discouraging as it doesn't seem like she is budging at all. Yet, it was the same way with Child #4. Just when I had surrendered my desires for an all natural birth and resolved that it was ok to have a C-section, Child #4 ended up in the head down position the day I went into labor. Therefore, I am trying to keep my hope focused on our sovereign, good, and loving God. With regards to my midwife's concern about high blood pressure, I've asked Hubby to purchase me one of the digital blood pressure machines so that I can monitor my blood pressure here at home. I really don't think I have an issue, but only the numbers will tell me. Still praying because God is good!!!
