Making a Difficult but Logical/Wise Decision
So last night around 5:30 my contractions got back down to the 2 to 5 minute range. I called the OB and spoke to a midwife and asked if I could just stay home. She didn't want to make that call and told me to wait for a call from an actual OB. No one ever got back to me. I decided to tolerate the contractions for 4.5 hours until my next medication time. I took the medication at 10pm and it spread out the contractions to 10 minutes apart and I was able to sleep through them, some what. The contractions are still coming, maybe just a little more spread out. Therefore, since the trend with these contractions have not caused any changes to the cervix and has not caused distress on baby, we've decided that I will stay home, even through 2-5 minute contractions, unless the contractions increases to an intolerable pain level and I will just follow up with the frequent OB visits. It is very inconvenient but I think this is what I will have to endure for the rest of this pregnancy...(Imagine carrying a 25 pound weight around your belly and then being squeezed out of breath every 2 to 5 minutes with cramping pains, not fun.)...Our next step is to figure out how the home will be managed through these next few weeks. We have received so much help up to this point and we are so grateful! Now it's a matter of deciding what continual help I will need and when...This is all so humbling as I'm used to doing everything...
