Something I just read sparked my thinking about something God has been showing me lately! As Christians, how do we define success? Have we allowed ourselves to get caught up in the world's definition of success? The world measures success through numbers, riches, fame and the applause of men.
But that is not how God views success. In God's eyes success is measured by very different things:
Is Hisname being glorified?
Is His kingdom being built?
Are His children growing in Christlikeness?
Are His children living for & serving an audience of One?
If those questions can be answered with a resounding yes, than in God's eyes you are very successful!
“...what does the Lord your God require of you, but to fear the Lord your God, to walk in all His ways and to love Him, to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul."(Deuteronomy 10:12)
"For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ." (Galatians 1:10)
Will His children be successful today??
