On Godliness: Part III (Remembering You Are God's Helps Correct Your Thinking)

I'm not sure who's I thought I was, but after my post, "Are We Really Our Own?," I meditated some more on this concept of being God's. As I went through the day I kept reminding myself that "I am doing this to please God because I belong to Him." It really brought more purpose to life. Taking care of the children didn't seem so burdensome because "I am doing this to please God because I belong to Him." Cleaning the toilet didn't seem so menial because "I am doing this to please God because I belong to Him." Cooking dinner for my family didn't seem so time consuming because "I am doing this to please God because I belong to Him." Then, I wondered, "Why does remembering this give me so much purpose? What makes belonging to God so special?" As I thought about that question I began to think about who God is. God is Creator! God is the King of kings! God is Holy! God is Father! And as I thought about who God is and why it is so special to belong to Him, I was humbled by the fact that He made me His and not only that, He made me His daughter, through adoption. Do you know what the Bible says about Jesus, God's only son? God calls Jesus His BELOVED Son and He says about Jesus, "In Him, I am well pleased!" Jesus is God's prized possession!!!! By making me His daughter, I am like a prized possession as well. By what Jesus did on that cross, I am loved by God! His wrath does not have to poured upon me because He loves me!!! What do you do with your prized possession? You take care of it. You pour your whole being into it. What an HONOR and a PRIVILEGE to belong to GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So, as I remember that I'm God's, it really helps correct my thinking. It brings back to my mind a FEAR of God, that TRUE REVERENCE AND RESPECT for God, which helps me correct my heart, which then helps me to correct my actions, which then helps me renounce ungodliness, and trains me towards godliness.

To add to my points about godliness:
1. Godliness is a process.
2. Godliness requires training.
3. Godliness requires perseverance.
4. Godliness is by the grace of God.
5. The goal of godliness is to please God.
6. Godliness is by faith.
7. Godliness requires a renewing of your mind, a change in your thinking.
